Come

'Come', i saw this inscription written with red lipstick on my mirror, "Come! Where! Come!", i reiterrated. I picked up my phone to dial 911, I reported what I've seen and known so far.<br />
I felt relieved on dropping the call, partial peace at least had set in due to law's awareness. Suddenly, my window went ajar, what opened it I didn't know, an envelope fell from the window sill, I lifted it to confirm its contents, it hides in a letter which reads, 'Mayor's harbour'.<br />
 I relayed it all again to the detective in-charge of my case. I removed my blazers from the hanger to put on, likewise I wore 'hot-ice' perfume to avoid unpleasant odour as i didn't bath. I waved a cab, hopped in as it drove towards Mayor's harbour, my mind was filled up, not like I was totally innocent about what might be going on, but I wanted it to end right on that day. I've clearly told Junta I'm not into this again. I had reflected while in prison but he wouldn't listen, and I think it's best if he also go to prison, it's not a very bad thing.<br />
 I was in agog to see Junta's sorrowful eyes has the prison's bracelet graced his wrists.<br />
 On reaching the harbour, a sign post was pointing to the canoe tied to the dock which reads, 'use the canoe and paddle towards the green flag on the other side,  I boarded the canoe, slowly I moved,  on seeing a green flag appeared, I paddled faster in its direction.<br />
 I disembarked the canoe, walked through a tiny path amidst bush, i hadn't taken more than fifteen steps before i heard some weird footsteps behind me. I slewed around to see who comes by, to my utmost surprise, six hefty men were trailing behind me, they're with red apron tied to their waists, Junta wouldn't do this I'm sure,  so it's the ritualist, they persuaded me out of my home to kill me.<br />
  By the time I could reasoned out of the box, their number had greatly increased. I jumped inside the bush, falling and standing up, i just mustn't die. I'm just back from 2years imprisonment now some unknown men wanted me hostage in another life imprisonment or death without an offence.<br />
 They caught me before I could covered many speed, they surrounded me holding big-headed cutlasses, none of them talked, one brought out a cloth and covered my mouth, as we were all stepping out of the bush, what we heard was,<br />
"you're all under arrest, don't try anything stupid because we've surrounded your domain", I saw my parole officer discharging, I was happy with him for the first time. Had it been I kept this all to myself, who knows what might have happened now.<br />

Glory be to the Almighty God.<br />
Out of the NYSC prison gate,<br />
new beams, fresh breeze fell on my gaze.<br />
Atleast, free atlast, like a bird out of cage,<br />
12 moons, a 365 revolutions on the earth plane,<br />
diligently, obeyed that clarion call, it set me awake,<br />
be it the scorching uv rays or drenching heavy rain,<br />
for the nation to reign we serve with a change,<br />
shoutout to great guys i met and dames,<br />
we all are representatives of future gains.<br />

My grey green khaki i use to wear,<br />
is half covered with dust, with stress,<br />
stucked on at spots where strong it is to dress,<br />
my retinas are clear, my noses thus smells,<br />
what tribes hither does to the bottom of their depth,<br />
though i left behind my impression quill, just my sense,<br />
vividly, i can tell,<br />
i accommodated many cultures to my creed strength,<br />
though i ex their violence, ill twist, act of wrest,<br />
emulate I did proper conduct, took it abreast,<br />
possess, impressive, divinely demeanor arrest,<br />
hence, i learnt super wit wont go for a cent,<br />

only with benign grit, how knowledge appears,<br />
'By their fruits you shall know them',<br />
their wits smell farther but couldn't beat the ant cense,<br />
some dwelt on the fence betwist intelligence and being dense,<br />

A meeting with many, friends, colleagues,<br />
some seems free, fresh, fierce, savaged,<br />

Atmosphere depicting at great sight-<br />
of stars, moisture, vapour, multi tarred asphalts,<br />
fruits, flowers, birds, reptiles and pets,<br />
solitude wind atimes was great,<br />
witnessing how birds whispered,<br />
enjoying greatness of the expanse so wide,<br />
how squirrels say their morning prayers,<br />
standing in peace, in harmony, the bright new day,<br />
I took a perfect privilege,<br />

sat in front of my scholars to learn,<br />

yet i haven't luck to live in one.<br />
Over a million invention breathes in my mind,<br />
all were there pinning at the still progress,<br />
now I'm out to strife for supremacy,<br />
a flickering lamp use to keep this body's company,<br />
now I want chandelier in my form.<br />
A shufti of sufferness, hardship, strove i overcame,<br />
days when bedridden with hunger,<br />
all for the pungent luxuriant clove of affluent life,<br />
why wont i blossom like the colourful combo<br />
of efflorescence conjoint with hibiscus cuteness?<br />

  7th of February, 1964. I celebrated 5years in prison, it was on this same date 1959, I was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for drugs issue.<br />
"Tombs Timba", the warden called me, "we're moving you out of here today". I was moved to rooms for semi-finalists, had they known they shouldn't have done so for me, the young boy in me is very bad, indeed.<br />
 On getting to the new room, there are four inmates already. They started hailing me has I've been popular on site. I sat like an innocent lad moving closer to freedom. I kept studying my new environment till I saw a patchwork on the wall like an abandoned channel of water has been blocked, my head network started roaming, I quickly packed my belongings to that side of the room, the other inmates understand what's going on so they moved closer to me, I whispered something gently into their hearings and they nodded in support.<br />
 We dug with a knife I smuggled in purposely for survival, and we shared the earth crust been dug out into our pockets to dispose on daily basis. After 2months of serious work, we've dugout all to remain a thin layers of cover, so we plan to dug the cover at night as we escaped on.<br />
  According to our calculations, the pipe, a very big size and long one led outside the compound in the master plan of the prison, as our room area was once a laundry before being converted.<br />
At exactly 9:45pm after the room call we moved for the final escape phase. I got out of the pipe first,  I didn't notice the surrounding as i kept helping others out,  it's very dark as there is no moon.<br />
As soon as we're all out of the pipe, I heard some people gave a round of applause, floods of light fell on our eyes, they're so plenty on us, at first it's as if God was clapping for us on a job well done before I realized we've being caught.<br />
"Tombs Timba, our new 'Michael Scoffield', this is a trap I set for you, I intentionally put you here knowing fully well you'll explore it, I need this pipe for a purpose, so welcome yourself to the Warden's lodge", it was the voice of the commander as we couldn't see their faces.<br />
 I was so downed, others were crying as we were transferred to 'hardened criminas unit'.<br />

As we were two hours into the air, the plane started swerving, the pilot lost control, people started shouting, the waitress endeared us to do our last prayer but I didn't loose hope. 'Which of the last prayer?' I thought, i with God signed a contract for a century. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #464646; font-family: DroidSans, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 19px; line-height: 18px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #464646; font-family: DroidSans, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 19px; line-height: 18px;"> I stood up, carry a parachute, move straight to the window thinking I'm too young to die, i break it and jumped out, as I was coming down I thought of starting the parachute but it's not working, I pressed hard on it but it won't work and I kept falling down the altitude. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #464646; font-family: DroidSans, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 19px; line-height: 18px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #464646; font-family: DroidSans, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 19px; line-height: 18px;">Coming down, a big fish was opening its mouth for the supposed God sent food which is me, I suspended in air, waiting for the fish to vacate that position, suddenly an antelope with very long horns somehow appeared behind me, it knocked my butts very hard as I continue on the journey down. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #464646; font-family: DroidSans, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 19px; line-height: 18px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #464646; font-family: DroidSans, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 19px; line-height: 18px;">I quickly unfastened the parachute, throw it down into the fish's mouth, on throwing it, the unworkable parachute worked, it fell on the fish and it struggled with it, i landed on the parachute as well, you know dreams now, i found myself ashore, I walked straight into town to ask people which country I'm was in, they say Nigeria. "Nigeria again! Mo gbe o!!</span><br />

Rib and Jaw...<br />
 Hurriedly, i rushed out of the house, my teeth still unbrushed, on trying to open the driver's door i discovered i had dropped the key inside. I roketted in like flashes of lightening stubbed my leg against a stone, i almost cried for the pain it bestows.<br />
 I progressed, it was lying there on the bed in my wife's hand; the key, this woman didnt want me out, "what?!" i shouted, she gave me a sensual gesture with her gaze, i forced the key out of her hand. I hissed, maybe she thought that's the only food men are bound to eat on earth, if money should for a day vacate my purse, she will complain, that's female being for you. I avoided her harsh facial expression, hers is viral, airborne, to be precise, if i should dare look in her i will look into many things before i go out. I stormed out once again and into the car, Junior was already beside the second door as he headlonged in too, i looked at him, he smiled, i'm not sure he even took his bath courtesy of my threat of leaving him behind, with a look of eyes soaked with pity, "God saves you", i commented. Someone was trying to gain my attention from the inside, and there is surely one person inside so i took to deaf-dumb theory as i drove off.<br />
 I sped on the main road, my speedometer was dancing 90 in km/hr, i wouldn't mind my instantenous acceleration.<br />
Then suddenly, a motorcyclist was dashing headon towards me, the driver, a seemingly hungry man tired of life with the way he looked. His speed was not encouraging as well, even if i were to be a toddler on bicycle, the situation still shall hold, and before i could manouvre my steer wheel, he crashed into me. 'Gboooooooooooa!'. I was thunderstrucked, i jumped out of the car, agape stood my gob.<br />
 Within a twinkle of an eye, a mob had gathered, my mind was throbbing, Junior was crying, i was afraid if the crowd wont lynched me so i off my shoes forgetting Junior and talked to my heels, some faction followed suit, i dashed into a nearby market and they wouldn't back off, elephant-me couldn't run faster and with time they caught me, a hard strike landed on my cheek, it almost dislocated my jaw, my eyes flashed, "give me my son", i shouted, they dragged me along as i've created another scene already, series of questions i couldn't comprehend, not like they're speaking spanish but its not just entering my ears. They've rushed him to the hospital on getting to the place of accident, my son and my car had disappeared, people started blaming me for absconding, thank God, everyone was made to believe the cyclist was at fault, i looked into the face of the man that slapped me, "ehn! You made us run too much", he said.<br />
 I sacrificed all of my hurriedness to a very longtime patience going to the hospital, if not for the victim but for my son and car.<br />
 "He said he's tired of life", the doctor reported, i almost cried,<br />
"this ignorant has caused me a lot", i went to his ward to see him, i was told he had a broken rib and jaw.<br />
"i'm so sorry sir", he reproached.<br />
Had i know, i wouldn't be in such a hurry.<br />

 After 6years of his disappearance, Tombs was back in the hood, who knows where he had gone to all these while, probably, prison, who cares! I met him along an Allen towards Judge Akinbode street. I initially planned to ignore him but he greeted me with greater hospitality, it looks like we've been friends before he left but NO, we're one of the greatest enemy.<br />
 Back then, this naughty guy will abuse all girls, bully all boys and caused trouble around the school.<br />
Oneday, don't know why he picked on me, anything I do was wrong to him, he will abuse me that I'm too fat for him to date, that I'm this and that, there was a day he slapped me for talking back at him and that day he nearly disgraced me as he was meant to tore my uniform but glory be to God on this faithful day.<br />
 He called me on phone saying he needed to see me, i reluctantly gave him my number the day we bumped into one another due to his hospitality. I was like 'why will he want to see me', I was optimistic to know why, i went to the directed place and met him sitting, then he started the trash,"....that's all I've gat in my heart, I've poured it all, please accept me, i love you"....it was like I'm hearing those words for the first time, so surprised, 'Tombs wooed me', wonders that seized to end, i rejected him immediately. After his departure,  my heart began to pound, even if I'll fall but it mustn't be him, why this feelings,i trained my heart to be strong enough.<br />
 He made several attempts to get me but I kept slipping from his supposed grip, then a day came, he appeared in our house and I've been avoiding him, i was separating yam flour from it's shaft, the anxiety grew so tall in me that i poured a quantity of the shaft on him, made him all white, he looked straight into me and said, "anyway, it's an atonement for my past deeds, i won't stop loving you", he turned to leave as I couldn't hold the emotions in me, i pulled back his sleeves and hugged him with his dirty cloth, who cares!. Someone I could barely stay beside in the past as now turn to a lust for my lonely days.<br />

A Dark Regret...<br />

Sick and dying, in my nonagenarian years.<br />
"How did you come to have your right leg amputated Dad?" My son asked, as he stared at my leg.<br />
I knew my days are numbered already, its time to let out the truth I have kept in all this while as to how I lost a leg.<br />
"I'll tell you of that story. It was a regretful one." I said, as I gave a long sigh.<br />
<br />
I had two years of rigorous training in Black Shadow's Camp,  about fourty two years ago was just like yesterday.<br />
Twenty five of us were admitted, only six qualified to be called modern killers; Assassins.<br />
<br />
 On my induction day, El-Jeffe- our commander called me, "Hawkin Dawkin" (as that was my code name), he stretched his hand to give me a portrait.<br />
"That's your first assignment", I was shocked on seeing the picture. "Yes, it's the newly elected president, he defuncted from the party that helped him in and he's now a thorn in their throat, they want him dead", though there is dareness and desperation in my eyes, yet I felt pity for the man, i stand to loose nothing, death is imminent for all, so we're never afraid but the whole nation will mourn.<br />
"There would be a conference tomorrow at 'Hawk's Square', seize the opportunity and do it".<br />
...<br />
 I was at Hawk's Square so early, to study well the environment and the reasonable perimeter. I was sure I got it all covered.<br />
<br />
 At exactly 1200hr, the President arrived, he was a man of integrity, he took to time but my job is a must do. At quarter past 1200hr, two bullets pierced his chest and head, there is hullabaloo, everyone run in anarchy. I quickly switched my position as was planned for my escape, and as I was getting away, trying to scale through a gate, I got shot on the leg. Immediately, I slewed around in pain and shot the guy. Two other securities charged at me but I somehow escaped, don't ask me how, it's my profession.<br />
<br />
The President died.<br />
I assassinated him.<br />
<br />
I couldn't leave the uncompleted building somewhere in a bushy hide out. Police were all over searching for me. Did first aid as was taught, but could not get the bullet out on my own; I needed the hospital. I stopped the blood, use all the tranquilizers with me to drug myself to sleep. My dream was full of nightmares, I kept on seeing the dead president face, I still see him atimes in my dream till now, always staring at me.<br />
<br />
Two days after hiding, I manage to find my way out without been spotted. I traveled a long deal to this country, and then at the hospital, it was told me my leg needed amputating, its been infected.<br />
Had no choice, I was dying. I lost my leg, but I gained my conscience.<br />
<br />
I quitted after my first assignment, I never return home; no Black Shadow, just regret... Thick dark regret.<br />

<p dir="ltr">This is the second installment to the series of three. The first installment was about cause and effect and the reference story was a "bam bam" story written by John Jako, and here same story would be referenced but won't be in full text to avoid repetition, kindly re read the first installment in case you missed it, so you can tag along this essay well. <br>
Today we will be talking about action and reaction. In creative writing the natural order of action and reaction, is unlike cause and effect, because it is based on the choice of actions of the story characters rather than events or motives of the characters. The truth is, the best order is action first before reaction. <br>
Now back to John Jako story titled "bam bam" John story climax was a perfect example of action and reaction. In the climax, the lady Anwulika who so much believed in her wit took the decision of acting first -the action-backed by attempting to shoot Don, however she had miscalculated and hence she fired an unloaded gun. However John who witnessed such gruesome attempt had to respond -the reaction- and bam bam, he pulled the trigger that killed Amwulika.<br>
Actions and reactions sometimes could not always be  turn by turn issues in certain stories, in other stories, they run so concurrently that you won't even be sure which is the action or which is the reaction. However the most rational thing is to keep the order and avoid placing an obvious reaction first before action. That way the clumsy way of trying to justify a reaction afterwards will not only be clumsy but will drive your story writing more towards telling than showing.<br>
In the next installment we will discuss how to exploit the natural order as a tool to write amazing stories, natural order not only smoothen your stories but also strengthen your plots. The next installment will extensively tell on how to exploit the entirety of cause and effect, and action and reaction to ensure the composure of magical stories always, as these tools are the magical ingredients essential for an outstanding build up in stories. </p>

 The street is old, longlife to the street but i grew up to meet up with the street around 1998, then i was 10 years of age. My first memorable experience on the street was the day i was sent on an errand by my grandma, she sent me 'kulikuli' to battle her cassava flakes 'garri' for the afternoon. It was a #20 note and I'm to buy #5 kulikuli, seriously, #5 kulikuli is almost in fifteen pieces, it's a lot for an old woman, probably she's going to share it amongst my siblings and I. Infact, then, #20 can cook an okra soup 'Ila alasepo'. On my way there, two older guys approached me as if they were friends of my unborn elder brother,<br />
"how far now? What's your name? ",they greeted and I responded, one was patting and rubbing my back while the other shaking me vigorously,<br />
"how nice of them" i thought to myself. They left shortly after. On getting to the kulikuli seller, i quickly pick one for testing as i know she will surely remove it from the quantity I'm buying, picked another and another, making three that i picked, she tied the remaining into a small polythene bag for me, i eagerly extended my hand into my embracing pocket, and money was like, "check here, i'm here" i roamed around my multi-pocket short with no avail,<br />
"Where is the money? "a question for an empty answer. The woman skimmed through me head to toe like I'm a standing dumping site, she thought i was pulling tricks, she drew her cane, pulled my sleeves, i shouted and fought to get loose, she's  more powerful then(come on, not now again).<br />
She flogged me like 5 times and collect the already wrapped one with me, i cried home.<br />
 On my way back, i saw those two guys again, they were smiling, i knew what they did and i still could recognize them perfectly even up till date as many of them were still tussling with such an unworthy style of living.<br />
Bitterly i wept on my way home, probably because i was cheated by those goons or being beaten by the kulikuli seller or the awaiting punishment i might received from grandma. On that very day, only Judas could narrate a more sour experience.<br />
 I grow wiser than the day inorder to live up to the street, there are special lessons we learnt from the street, no matter the condition, the street preaches loyalty, mind you, being loyal doesn't necessarily meant you're truthful, you can be loyal to an evil wills, bad habits and weird ideologies.<br />
It thought us to be so steadfast, no condition as ever being permanent.<br />
 Up till our JSS2 days, during Ramadan(muslims' fasting month), after a playfully contented day, we felt so exhausted and the fact that God is never wicked, especially to children, we drunk or let me say sup some reasonable amount of water to hydrate our dehydrated immune. Since food wasn't involved, God can still overlook water, what a believe?. Then a day came, the street gave us an alternative, Sega came around, not many of us are fans of nitendo, Sega entered into our hood and became our food as it captive our minds.<br />
 That was when we substituted our childish sin for Sega, without even knowing that the love of Sega is the root of punishment. The game vendor became our new apostle and his crusade is where you'll see all youths.<br />
 The nemesis that came around with Sega Interactive Superstar Deluxe shall be emphasized in the next episode.<br />

 Yes, they say when things actually fall apart, centres would no more hold, my heart already has fallen and it's not occupying it's former centroid.<br />
 When I say assist King people would think of Mesut Özil of Real Madrid who assisted Cristiano Ronaldo to Ballon D'or with 45goals, so when you're doing similar greater things for someone else who only take the credits like Ronaldo and you Özil with no recognition.<br />
 I have a lot of money, I bought her ferrari while I'm driving Camry LE, she's using BB Porche while I'm using Techo Android, if people should talk about me being a fool, I would say it's love. The last I did and regretted, she said she loves me and want marriage, I said 'okay', and asked to see her parents. We chose a date but she insisted on buying a diamond ring at first, in preparing ahead of our event.<br />
  Believe me. Last Saturday, a faithful brother rushed to my house showing me an invitation card with direction of venue, to my utmost amazement it was my beloved spouse having a wedding with another man. I helplessly rushed down to the venue. I entered and shouted, "Stop this right now, she's my spouse", everyone set their gaze on me surprisingly, and my supposed spouse commented, "Pastor don't mind him, he's only an 'Assist King', my heaven-sent Ozil, everyone bursted into laughter as I fainted. I'm still on my sickbed.<br />

 Conflict with the Tijuana Cartel: 1989–1993<br />
 When Félix Gallardo was arrested, the Tijuana corridor was handed over to the Arellano Félix brothers, Jesús Labra Áviles (alias "El Chuy"), and Javier Caro Payán (alias "El Doctor"), cousin of the former Guadalajara Cartel leader Rafael Caro Quintero. In fears of a coup, however, Caro Payán fled to Canada and was later arrested. Guzmán and the rest of the Sinaloa Cartel leaders consequently grew angry at the Arellano Félix clan about this. In 1989, Guzmán sent Armando López (alias "El Rayo"), one of his most trusted men, to speak with the Arellano Félix clan in Tijuana. Before he had a chance to speak face-to-face with them, López was<br />
killed by Ramón Arellano Félix. The corpse was disposed in the outskirts of the city and the Tijuana Cartel ordered a hit on the remaining members of the López family to prevent future reprisals. That same year, the Arellano Félix brothers sent the Venezuelan drug trafficker Enrique Rafael Clavel Moreno to infiltrate Palma's family and seduce his wife Guadalupe Leija Serrano. After convincing her to withdraw US$7 million from one of Palma's bank accounts in San Diego, California, Clavel beheaded her and sent her head to Palma in a box. It was known as the first beheading linked to the drug trade in Mexico. Two weeks later, Clavel killed Palma's children, Héctor (aged 5) and Nataly (aged 4), by throwing them off a bridge in Venezuela. Palma retaliated by sending his men to kill Clavel while he was in prison. In 1991, Ramón killed another Sinaloa Cartel associate, Rigoberto Campos Salcido (alias "El Rigo"), prompting bigger conflicts with Guzmán. In early 1992, a Tijuana Cartel-affiliated and San Diego-based gang known as Calle Treinta kidnapped six of Guzmán’s men in Tijuana, tortured them to attain information, and then shot them execution-style in the backs of their heads. Their bodies were dumped on the outskirts of the city. Shortly after the attack, a car bomb exploded outside one of Guzmán’s properties in Culiacán. No injuries were reported, but the drug lord became fully aware of the intended message.<br />
Guzmán and Palma struck back against the Arellano Félix brothers (Tijuana Cartel) with nine killings on 3 September 1992 in Iguala; among the dead were lawyers and family members of Félix Gallardo, who was also believed to have orchestrated the attack against Palma's family.<br />
Mexico's Attorney General formed a special unit to look into the killings, but the investigation was called off after the unit found that Guzmán had paid off some of the top police officials in Mexico with $10 million, according to police reports and confessions of former police officers.  In November 1992, gunmen of Arellano Félix attempted to kill Guzmán as he was traveling in a vehicle through the streets of Guadalajara. Ramón and at least four of his henchmen shot at the moving vehicle with AK-47 rifles, but the drug lord managed to escape unharmed. The attack forced Guzmán to leave Guadalajara and live under a false name under fears of future attacks.<br />
He and Palma, however, responded to the assassination attempt in a similar fashion; several days later, on 8 November 1992, a large commando of the Sinaloa Cartel posing as policemen stormed the Christine discothèque in Puerto Vallarta, spotted Ramón and Francisco Javier Arellano Félix, and opened fire at them. The shooting lasted for at least eight minutes, and more than 1,000 rounds were fired by both Guzmán's and Arellano Félix's gunmen. Six people were killed in the shootout, but the Arellano Félix brothers were in the restroom when the raid started and reportedly escaped through an air-conditioning duct before leaving the scene in one of their vehicles. On 9 and 10 December 1992, four alleged associates of Félix<br />
Gallardo were killed. The antagonism between Guzmán's Sinaloa Cartel and the Arellano Félix clan left several more dead and was accompanied by violent acts in the states of Baja California, Sonora, Sinaloa, Durango, Jalisco, Guerrero, Michoacán and Oaxaca.<br />
The war between both groups continued for six more months, yet none of their respective leaders was killed. In mid-1993, the Arellano Félix clan sent their top gunmen on a final mission to<br />
kill Guzmán in Guadalajara, where he moved around frequently to avoid any possible attacks. Having no success, the Tijuana Cartel hitmen decided to return to Baja California on 24 May<br />
1993. As Francisco Javier was at the Guadalajara International Airport booking his flight to Tijuana, informant tips notified him<br />
that Guzmán was at the airport parking lot awaiting a flight to Puerto Vallarta. Having spotted the white Mercury Grand Marquis car where Guzmán was thought to be hiding, about 20 gunmen of the Tijuana Cartel descended from three Jeep-like vehicles and opened fire at around 4:10 p.m. However, the drug lord was inside a green Buick sedan a short distance from the target. Inside the Mercury Grand Marquis was the Cardinal and Archbishop of Guadalajara Juan Jesús Posadas Ocampo, who died at the scene from fourteen gunshot wounds. Six other people, including the cardinal's chauffeur, were caught in the crossfire and killed. Amidst the shootout and confusion, Guzmán escaped in a taxi and headed to one of his safe houses in Bugambilias, a neighborhood 20 minutes away from the airport. News of the death of the cardinal quickly circulated across Mexico and the rest of the world.

During the 1980s, the leading crime syndicate in Mexico was the Guadalajara Cartel, which was headed by Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo (alias "El Padrino" ["the Godfather"]), Rafael Caro Quintero, Ernesto Fonseca Carrillo (alias "Don Neto"), Juan José Esparragoza Moreno ( alias "El Azul" ["the Blue One"]) and others. In the 1970s, Guzmán first worked for the drug lord Héctor "El Güero" Palma by transporting drugs and overseeing their shipments from the Sierra Madre region to urban areas near the U.S.-Mexico border by aircraft. Since his initial steps in organized crime, Guzmán was ambitious and regularly pressed on his superiors to allow him to increase the share of narcotics that were smuggled across the border. The drug lord also favored a pragmatic and serious approach when doing business; if any of his drug shipments were not on time, Guzmán would simply kill the smuggler himself by shooting him in the head. Those around<br />
him learned that cheating him or going with other competitors even if they offered better prices was inconvenient. The leaders of the Guadalajara Cartel liked Guzmán's business acumen, and in the early 1980s, they introduced him to Félix Gallardo, one<br />
of the major drug lords in Mexico at that time. Guzmán first worked as a chauffeur for Félix Gallardo before he put him in charge of logistics, where Guzmán coordinated drug shipments from Colombia to Mexico by land, air, and sea.<br />
Palma, on the other hand, made sure the deliveries arrived to consumers in the United States. Guzmán soon earned enough standing and began working for Félix Gallardo directly.<br />
Throughout most of the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Mexican drug traffickers were middlemen for the Colombian drug trafficking groups, and would simply move the drugs through<br />
the U.S.-Mexico border and receive a fee for each kilogram.<br />
Mexico, however, remained a secondary route for the Colombians, given that most of the drugs trafficked by their cartels were smuggled through the Caribbean and the Florida corridor. Félix Gallardo was the leading drug baron in Mexico and friend of Juan Ramón Matta-Ballesteros, but his operations were still limited by his counterparts in South America. In the mid-1980s, however, the U.S. government increased law enforcement surveillance and put pressure on the<br />
Medellín and Cali Cartels by effectively reducing the drug trafficking operations in the Caribbean corridor. Realizing it was more profitable to hand over the operations to their Mexican counterparts, the Colombian cartels gave Félix Gallardo more<br />
control over their drug shipments. This power shift<br />
gave the Mexican organized crime groups more leverage over their Central American and South American counterparts.<br />
During the 1980s, however, the Drug Enforcement<br />
Administration (DEA) was conducting undercover groundwork in Mexico, where several of its agents worked as informants.<br />
One DEA agent, Enrique Camarena Salazar, was working as an informant and grew close to many top drug barons, including<br />
Félix Gallardo. In November 1984, the Mexican military acting on the intelligence information provided by Camarena raided a large marijuana plantation owned by the Guadalajara Cartel and known as "Rancho Búfalo". Angered by the suspected betrayal, Félix Gallardo and his men sought revenge by kidnapping, torturing, and killing the DEA agent in February 1985. Guzmán's life changed that day, according to federal agents of the DEA; the drug lord took advantage of the internal crisis to gain ground within the cartel and take over more drug trafficking operations. The death of Camarena outraged Washington, and Mexico responded by carrying out a massive manhunt to arrest those involved in the incident. In 1989, Félix Gallardo was arrested; while in prison and through a number of envoys, the drug lord called for a summit in Acapulco, Guerrero. In the conclave, Guzmán and others discussed the future of Mexico's drug trafficking and agreed to<br />
divide the territories previously owned by the Guadalajara Cartel.<br />
The Arellano Félix brothers formed the Tijuana Cartel, which controlled the Tijuana corridor and parts of Baja California; in Chihuahua state, a group controlled by Carrillo Fuentes family formed the Juárez Cartel; and the remaining faction left to Sinaloa and the Pacific Coast and formed the Sinaloa Cartel under the traffickers Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, Palma, and Guzmán.     Guzmán was specifically incharge of the drug corridors of Tecate, Baja California,and Mexicali and San Luis Río Colorado, two border crossings<br />
that connect the states of Sonora and Baja California with the U.S. states of Arizona and California. When Félix Gallardo was arrested, Guzmán reportedly lived in Guadalajara , Jalisco for some time. One of his other centers of operation, however, was in the border city of Agua Prieta, Sonora, where he coordinated drug trafficking activities more closely. The drug lord had dozens of properties in various parts of the country. People he trusted purchased the properties for him and registered them under false names. Most of them were located in residential neighborhoods and served as stash houses for drugs, weapons, and cash. Guzmán also owned several ranches across Mexico, but most of them were located in the states of Sinaloa, Durango, Chihuahua, and Sonora, where locals working for the drug lord grew opium and marijuana.<br />
The first time Guzmán was detected by U.S. authorities for his involvement in organized crime was in 1987, when several protected witnesses testified in a U.S. court that the drug lord was in fact heading the Sinaloa Cartel. An indictment issued in the state of Arizona alleged that Guzmán had coordinated the shipment of 4,600 pounds (roughly 2 085 kg) of cannabis and 10,504 pounds (roughly 4 765 kg) of cocaine from 19 October 1987 to 18 May 1990, and had received roughly US $1.5 million in drug proceeds that were shipped back to his home state. Another indictment alleged that Guzmán earned US $100,000 for trafficking 35 tons (roughly 31.8 t) of cocaine and an unspecified amount of marijuana in a period of three years. In the border areas between Tecate and San Luis Río Colorado, Guzmán ordered his men to traffic most of the drugs overland, but also through a few aircraft. By using the so-called piecemeal strategy, in which traffickers kept drug quantities relatively low, risks were reduced. The drug lord also pioneered the use of sophisticated underground tunnels to move drugs across the border and into the United States. Aside from pioneering the tunnels, Palma and Guzmán packed cocaine into chili pepper cans under the brand Comadre before they were shipped to the U.S. by train. In return, the drug lords were paid through large suitcases filled with millions of dollars in cash. These suitcases were flown from the U.S. to Mexico City, where corrupt customs agents at the airport made sure the deliveries were not inspected. Large sums of that money were reportedly used as bribes for members of the Attorney General's Office.<br />

I feel good as I always feel right<br />
do you feel bad that I'm good<br />

Many a time,<br />
the good we know are somehow bad<br />
and what we think are right<br />
were actually the wrong things<br />
but it's not always confusing<br />
the confused one is the direct mixing<br />
between what is good and what is right.<br />
If it's not so good it's not rightful<br />
or if it's not okay it's not so good.<br />

<p dir="ltr">The natural order in stories </p>
<p dir="ltr">The natural order, is the expected course and order of events in your story. Defining natural order might seem unwarranted as the words in it are self explanatory enough, however its depth and essence in our stories need further analysis as it is an essential tool needed to forge the best of creative pieces. This article will be in series of 3. Today,  I'll be touching cause and effect as an element of natural order. <br>
The words cause and effect are self explanatory enough, and hence explain that the best order of events is for causes to occur before their effects or causes and effects to alternate in successions. To be more precise I will take us into a true story world. In our various stories, we build up our stories from various events that eventually lead to a supreme after event, often manifested in the story climax, in such cases a simple natural order is observed and often readers finds this very appealing to their tastes.</p>
<p dir="ltr">I will be using a flash story from the on going blackout7 as a reference. The story is titled "bam bam". I will be using this story as it is a very good example of how natural order can be exploited perfectly as will later be discussed in the third part of this series. Here is John Jako flash:</p>
<p dir="ltr">"Anwulika Chukwu was a magnet. A thing that attracts things. From the moment she entered Sobi Barracks, all the soldiers gravitated towards her. But she was a north pole and they were all north poles too. There wasonly one south pole in Sobi. He was the man she had come for. The man she had been sent to kill. His name was Don.</p>
<p dir="ltr">***</p>
<p dir="ltr">Don was a watchman. A man who looked out for danger to protect others. But when a fair lady in army uniform walked through the door of the officers’ mess, he saw no danger, only full pink lips and supple breasts. His phallus sent a message to his heart. His heart relayed it to his brain. His brain buzzed like an alarm. He stood up from his chair and started towards her. Pure animal instinct. By the time he got to where she was seated alone, he was breathing heavily. The rate of his heart beat had tripled. He had never believed in love, only in iron and pain. But here he was, his heart melting like jelly. My name is Don, he said.</p>

<p dir="ltr">She played him for weeks, like a soccer ball. It had to be that way, even though he had confessed his love within the first week. She had to wait for the perfect moment. The perfect moment came on the fifth week, when he invited her for a date outside the barracks. He said they were going to see a movie. She knew they would end up in a motel. She was right. As always.</p>

<p dir="ltr">At the cinema, she bought a hotdog. He bought bars of candy. While they ate in front of the big screen, her head dropped on his shoulder. Her hair was under his nose. She smelt good. He put his hands around her. She leaned closer. He was in heaven. He felt the love, the chemistry. They ended up in a motel.</p>

<p dir="ltr">She didn’t bring a gun. It was too risky. But she didn’t have to. Inside the rented room, he brought out a gun and loaded it. He was quick, but she saw the rectangular magazine slipping into the base of the gun. Never be taken by surprise, he said. She smiled. He dropped the gun on the table and returned to her. They started to kiss and his erection started to probe her thighs. She took control and pushed him on the bed. He fell flat and easy, with a smile of ecstasy etched on his face. Then she turned around, picked up the gun, and pointed it straight to his head. No epilogues. Click. Click. But there was no report.</p>

<p dir="ltr">The rectangular magazine was not a magazine, but one of the candy bars he had picked up at the cinema. From behind his waist, he produced his pistol. No epilogues. No Never-Be-Taken-By-Surprise speech. With great grief clotting his heart, he aimed for her goddamn forehead. Bam Bam."</p>
<p dir="ltr">The highlight events of this story are:<br>
1) The visit to Don in the Barack.<br>
2) The relationship that ensued the meeting<br>
3) The visit to the motel<br>
4)  The romance in the motel<br>
5)  The disappointing attempt by Chukwu<br>
6)   Chukwu's death. <br>
The climax of the story is the death of Chukwu, this also happened to be the main effect. Chukwu died because she missed her attempt to kill Don. Though right from the onset, event 5 was also the cause of the events 1-4. However event 5 was not an initial event but a motive. So motive is not an event based cause but an intention based one. Intermittently, events 1-4 are the minor effects of the motive cause (5), however events 1-4 is a progression of cause and effect on themselves. <br>
I don't intend confusion here, however motive cause which is a master effect will have an influence as a drive on whatever other events happen in the story. However the individual events driven by the motive would have their own individual cause and effect. Though Chukwu's cause motive was to kill Don, which was what led to the visit and hence sparked love, however the advent of love was a progression from the main effect of the motive which is the visit. Hence the visit is the main cause of the event of the affair between the two pair. The relationship is the event that caused the visit to the motel which is it's direct effect. Then the visit to the motel caused it's direct effect which is the motive event, which later caused  the final event of Chukwu's death. However if we are to summarize the story in one cause and event. <br>
The motive cause is the main cause and the climax event is the main effect. In as much as events are very vital to the natural order of stories, emotions and motives are as much important as well. A motive/emotion could change the status of an initial cause event to effect because it has been altered by emotion and might not stand without such emotional drive, this set a difference between an ambitious business man and a non-ambitious one as one ambition might be the cause of his sucess and the other's success would have other cause events, emotions or factors. <br>
However a writer should avoid the unnatural order of  placing effects before cause and then going through the clumsy premise of stating the cause, though sometimes this might create a special effect of lingering mystery, especially in crimes however too much of such unnatural order will get your story too confusing to be appealing to reader's taste. <br>

 Eleyele, a direct translation means oni-eyele, the owners of pidgeon, it's a renowned geographical location in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State. Why the name? Let's leave that particular story for the archaelogist, many a bloke like me just one day wake up to our senses and find ourselves dwelling in this community. Well, I'll describe that blessed place for you in brief.<br />
 It's a geographical area that subtend towards the outskirt of Ibadan, it is somhow circular and embedded with a handful of wonders. Eleyele is bigger than many towns, not only in Oyo but in Nigeria and if it wont be an overstatement i would've said it's worthy to be a state on her own. Ask me why? There are four federal institutions in Eleyele, one state polythecnic and over hundred secondary and primary schools, both private and government owned. Now, talking about localization of industry, Eleyele can promised you many things which I'm only going to mention few, the first headquarters of Fan Milk plc Nigeria is in Eleyele, the headquarters of Nigermatch Nigeria is there.<br />
 If you're all about tourist attraction, I'll tell you that the historic Oke Ibadan during the reign of our first forefather, Lagelu, was situated here in Eleyele and there is enough room for sightseeing by the riverside.<br />
 Eleyele river is enough to supply both electricity and water for the whole town in abundance, which can actually serve well as a means of attraction for foreign investors. Our land had gone elastic as they expanded in length, breadth and width to give birth to a new geographical area called Ologuneru, which is still expanding fast. To cut the accolades short, Eleyele is nothing but blessed.<br />
 It's all well and good until your potential boss heard you hail from Eleyele, he must redo a background check on you because the good reputation of our condo had dashed into thin air to give room for street orientation. Now, the street had forced on our tongue its anthem, of guys gone gaga as gals gone wild, here, when nothing seems to go right, even right will turn left. As we all know, the first orientation we received was go to school and study hard, so that we can live a secured life, but the street taught us otherwise as it had many examples to show unlike our parents who would talk and leave the rest to God. So many great brothers are leading by examples. Brothers are ammasing affluence, many cool dough majorly through street means even our parents can't spend as much as they do. Big brothers in the hood were riding on big cars and many responsible Dads' wouldn't change the same car in a decade.<br />
Then who should we mentor?. The question will be answered right in your mind after the whole episode, why the hood is good, bad and equally weird.<br />

They once laughed at my fall<br />
And the hope to rise again was...hmm!<br />
Be not envious of my rise<br />
I have fallen too many times to rise again, the flowery me!<br />
The rise of a man should make him small<br />
Small before all, that they say nothing but small.<br />
Women, I love them all<br />
Tall, short, fat, skinny, white, black and brown.<br />
They watch you rise and fall, till your labors of pleasurable sweat on them is gone!<br />
Hearts are not toys, be careful how you play!<br />
The day you play with a broken heart<br />

El Chapo is a man an innocent-you wont like to relate with, a pious-you wont like to be fathered by though he had atleast eleven children, a father you might consider disowning or untagging his name from your good name, though, a rebellious-you, a drugaddicted-you, an illmannered-you will so much fall inlove with (a mentor for you criminals). Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera was born into a poor family in the rural community of La Tuna, Badiraguato, Sinaloa, Mexico. Sources disagree on the date of his birth, with some stating he was born on 25 December 1954, while others report he was born on 4 April 1957. His parents were Emilio Guzmán Bustillos and María Consuelo Loera Pérez. His paternal grandparents were Juan Guzmán and Otilia Bustillos, and his maternal grandparents were Ovidio Loera Cobret and Pomposa Pérez Uriarte. For many generations, his family lived and died at La Tuna. His father was officially a cattle rancher, as were most in the area where Guzmán grew up; according to some sources, however, he may have possibly also been a gomero, a Sinaloan word for opium poppy<br />
farmer. Guzmán has two younger sisters, Armida and Bernarda, and four younger brothers: Miguel Ángel, Aureliano, Arturo and Emilio. He had three unnamed older brothers who reportedly died of natural causes when he was very young.<br />
Few details are known of Guzmán's upbringing. As a child, Guzmán sold oranges, and dropped out of school in third grade to work with his father. Guzmán was regularly beaten and sometimes fled to his maternal grandmother's house to escape such treatment. However, when he was home, Guzmán stood up to his father to protect his younger siblings from being beaten.<br />
 It is possible that Guzmán incurred his father’s wrath for trying to stop him from beating them. His mother, however, was the "foundation of [his] emotional support". As the nearest school to his home was about 60 mi (100 km) away, Guzmán was taught by traveling teachers during his early years, just like the rest of his brothers. The teachers stayed for a few months before moving to other areas. With few opportunities for employment in his hometown, he turned to the cultivation of opium poppy, a common practice among local residents. During harvest season, Guzmán and his brothers hiked the hills of Badiraguato to cut the bud of the poppy.<br />
 Once the plant was stacked in kilos, his father sold the harvest to other suppliers in Culiacán and Guamúchil. He sold marijuana at commercial centers near the area while accompanied by Guzmán. His father spent most of the profits on liquor and women and often returned home with no money. Tired of his mismanagement, Guzmán, at the age of 15, cultivated his own marijuana plantation with four distant cousins (Arturo, Alfredo, Carlos, and Héctor), who lived nearby. With his first marijuana productions, Guzmán supported his family financially.<br />
When he was a teenager, however, his father kicked him out of his house, and he went to live with his grandfather. It was during his adolescence that Guzmán earned the nickname El Chapo, Mexican slang for "Shorty", because he's short with height 1.68m 5ft 6in stature.<br />
Though most people in Badiraguato worked in the poppy fields of the Sierra Madre Occidental throughout most of their lives, Guzmán left his hometown in search of greater opportunities; through his uncle Pedro Avilés Pérez, one of the pioneers of Mexican drug trafficking, he left Badiraguato in his 20s and joined organized crime.<br />
 He was the Mexican drug lord who heads the Sinaloa Cartel, a criminal organization named after the Mexican Pacific coast state of Sinaloa.<br />
 He became Mexico's top drug kingpin in 2003 after the arrest of his rival Osiel Cárdenas of the Gulf Cartel, and is considered the "most powerful drug trafficker in the world" by the United States Department of the Treasury.<br />
Each year from 2009 to 2011 Forbes magazine ranked Guzmán as one of the most powerful people in the world, ranking 41st, 60th and 55th respectively. He was thus the second most powerful man in Mexico, after Carlos Slim.<br />
He was named as the 10th richest man in Mexico (1,140th in the world) in 2011, with a net worth of roughly US$ 1 billion.<br />
 The magazine also calls him the "biggest drug lord of all time", and the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) estimates he has surpassed the influence and reach of Pablo Escobar, and now considers him "the godfather of the drug world". In 2013, the Chicago Crime Commission<br />
named Guzmán "Public Enemy Number One" for the influence of his criminal network in Chicago, though there is no evidence that Guzmán has ever been in that city. The last person to receive such notoriety was Al Capone in 1930.<br />
 Guzmán's Sinaloa Cartel transports multi-ton cocaine shipments from Colombia through Mexico to the United States, the world's top consumer, and has distribution cells throughout the U.S.<br />
The organization has also been involved in the production, smuggling and distribution of Mexican methamphetamine, marijuana, ecstasy and heroin across both North America and Europe.<br />
At the time of his 2014 arrest, Guzmán exported more drugs to the United States than anyone else, more than 500 tons of cocaine in the USA alone.<br />
Guzmán was captured in 1993 in Guatemala, extradited and sentenced to 20 years in prison in Mexico for murder and drug trafficking. After bribing prison guards, he was able to escape from a federal maximum-security prison in 2001.  He was wanted by the governments of Mexico and the United States, and by INTERPOL.<br />
The U.S. offered a US$5 million reward for information leading to his capture, and the Mexican government offered a reward of 60 million pesos (approximately US$3.8 million) for information on Guzmán.<br />
 Guzmán was arrested by Mexican authorities in Mexico on 22 February 2014. He was found inside his fourth-floor condominium in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, and was captured without a gunshot being fired. Guzmán escaped from prison again on 11 July 2015 by exiting through a tunnel that<br />
led to a nearby construction site. He was recaptured by Mexican marines following a gun battle on 8 January 2016.<br />
