Come

'Come', i saw this inscription written with red lipstick on my mirror, "Come! Where! Come!", i reiterrated. I picked up my phone to dial 911, I reported what I've seen and known so far. 
I felt relieved on dropping the call, partial peace at least had set in due to law's awareness. Suddenly, my window went ajar, what opened it I didn't know, an envelope fell from the window sill, I lifted it to confirm its contents, it hides in a letter which reads, 'Mayor's harbour'. 
 I relayed it all again to the detective in-charge of my case. I removed my blazers from the hanger to put on, likewise I wore 'hot-ice' perfume to avoid unpleasant odour as i didn't bath. I waved a cab, hopped in as it drove towards Mayor's harbour, my mind was filled up, not like I was totally innocent about what might be going on, but I wanted it to end right on that day. I've clearly told Junta I'm not into this again. I had reflected while in prison but he wouldn't listen, and I think it's best if he also go to prison, it's not a very bad thing. 
 I was in agog to see Junta's sorrowful eyes has the prison's bracelet graced his wrists. 
 On reaching the harbour, a sign post was pointing to the canoe tied to the dock which reads, 'use the canoe and paddle towards the green flag on the other side,  I boarded the canoe, slowly I moved,  on seeing a green flag appeared, I paddled faster in its direction. 
 I disembarked the canoe, walked through a tiny path amidst bush, i hadn't taken more than fifteen steps before i heard some weird footsteps behind me. I slewed around to see who comes by, to my utmost surprise, six hefty men were trailing behind me, they're with red apron tied to their waists, Junta wouldn't do this I'm sure,  so it's the ritualist, they persuaded me out of my home to kill me. 
  By the time I could reasoned out of the box, their number had greatly increased. I jumped inside the bush, falling and standing up, i just mustn't die. I'm just back from 2years imprisonment now some unknown men wanted me hostage in another life imprisonment or death without an offence. 
 They caught me before I could covered many speed, they surrounded me holding big-headed cutlasses, none of them talked, one brought out a cloth and covered my mouth, as we were all stepping out of the bush, what we heard was, 
"you're all under arrest, don't try anything stupid because we've surrounded your domain", I saw my parole officer discharging, I was happy with him for the first time. Had it been I kept this all to myself, who knows what might have happened now.

Escape... 
  7th of February, 1964. I celebrated 5years in prison, it was on this same date 1959, I was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for drugs issue. 
"Tombs Timba", the warden called me, "we're moving you out of here today". I was moved to rooms for semi-finalists, had they known they shouldn't have done so for me, the young boy in me is very bad, indeed. 
 On getting to the new room, there are four inmates already. They started hailing me has I've been popular on site. I sat like an innocent lad moving closer to freedom. I kept studying my new environment till I saw a patchwork on the wall like an abandoned channel of water has been blocked, my head network started roaming, I quickly packed my belongings to that side of the room, the other inmates understand what's going on so they moved closer to me, I whispered something gently into their hearings and they nodded in support. 
 We dug with a knife I smuggled in purposely for survival, and we shared the earth crust been dug out into our pockets to dispose on daily basis. After 2months of serious work, we've dugout all to remain a thin layers of cover, so we plan to dug the cover at night as we escaped on. 
  According to our calculations, the pipe, a very big size and long one led outside the compound in the master plan of the prison, as our room area was once a laundry before being converted. 
At exactly 9:45pm after the room call we moved for the final escape phase. I got out of the pipe first,  I didn't notice the surrounding as i kept helping others out,  it's very dark as there is no moon. 
As soon as we're all out of the pipe, I heard some people gave a round of applause, floods of light fell on our eyes, they're so plenty on us, at first it's as if God was clapping for us on a job well done before I realized we've being caught. 
"Tombs Timba, our new 'Michael Scoffield', this is a trap I set for you, I intentionally put you here knowing fully well you'll explore it, I need this pipe for a purpose, so welcome yourself to the Warden's lodge", it was the voice of the commander as we couldn't see their faces. 
 I was so downed, others were crying as we were transferred to 'hardened criminas unit'.

A Funny Nightmare....

A Funny Nightmare... I'm Tombs Timba, this is my last dream before I hypnotized myself against further dreams. It was on this day that I slept peacefully, I hadn't slept for five minutes before I started dreaming, It happened like this: 
I boarded a plane at Muritala International Airport, a flight bounded for Australia, happy I was leaving this very frustrating Nigeria at last, i switched on my joyous mode and activated happiness. As we were two hours into the air, the plane started swerving, the pilot lost control, people started shouting, the waitress endeared us to do our last prayer but I didn't loose hope. 'Which of the last prayer?' I thought, i with God signed a contract for a century.   I stood up, carry a parachute, move straight to the window thinking I'm too young to die, i break it and jumped out, as I was coming down I thought of starting the parachute but it's not working, I pressed hard on it but it won't work and I kept falling down the altitude.  Coming down, a big fish was opening its mouth for the supposed God sent food which is me, I suspended in air, waiting for the fish to vacate that position, suddenly an antelope with very long horns somehow appeared behind me, it knocked my butts very hard as I continue on the journey down.  I quickly unfastened the parachute, throw it down into the fish's mouth, on throwing it, the unworkable parachute worked, it fell on the fish and it struggled with it, i landed on the parachute as well, you know dreams now, i found myself ashore, I walked straight into town to ask people which country I'm was in, they say Nigeria. "Nigeria again! Mo gbe o!!

Rib and Jaw... 
 Hurriedly, i rushed out of the house, my teeth still unbrushed, on trying to open the driver's door i discovered i had dropped the key inside. I roketted in like flashes of lightening stubbed my leg against a stone, i almost cried for the pain it bestows. 
 I progressed, it was lying there on the bed in my wife's hand; the key, this woman didnt want me out, "what?!" i shouted, she gave me a sensual gesture with her gaze, i forced the key out of her hand. I hissed, maybe she thought that's the only food men are bound to eat on earth, if money should for a day vacate my purse, she will complain, that's female being for you. I avoided her harsh facial expression, hers is viral, airborne, to be precise, if i should dare look in her i will look into many things before i go out. I stormed out once again and into the car, Junior was already beside the second door as he headlonged in too, i looked at him, he smiled, i'm not sure he even took his bath courtesy of my threat of leaving him behind, with a look of eyes soaked with pity, "God saves you", i commented. Someone was trying to gain my attention from the inside, and there is surely one person inside so i took to deaf-dumb theory as i drove off. 
 I sped on the main road, my speedometer was dancing 90 in km/hr, i wouldn't mind my instantenous acceleration. 
Then suddenly, a motorcyclist was dashing headon towards me, the driver, a seemingly hungry man tired of life with the way he looked. His speed was not encouraging as well, even if i were to be a toddler on bicycle, the situation still shall hold, and before i could manouvre my steer wheel, he crashed into me. 'Gboooooooooooa!'. I was thunderstrucked, i jumped out of the car, agape stood my gob. 
 Within a twinkle of an eye, a mob had gathered, my mind was throbbing, Junior was crying, i was afraid if the crowd wont lynched me so i off my shoes forgetting Junior and talked to my heels, some faction followed suit, i dashed into a nearby market and they wouldn't back off, elephant-me couldn't run faster and with time they caught me, a hard strike landed on my cheek, it almost dislocated my jaw, my eyes flashed, "give me my son", i shouted, they dragged me along as i've created another scene already, series of questions i couldn't comprehend, not like they're speaking spanish but its not just entering my ears. They've rushed him to the hospital on getting to the place of accident, my son and my car had disappeared, people started blaming me for absconding, thank God, everyone was made to believe the cyclist was at fault, i looked into the face of the man that slapped me, "ehn! You made us run too much", he said. 
 I sacrificed all of my hurriedness to a very longtime patience going to the hospital, if not for the victim but for my son and car. 
 "He said he's tired of life", the doctor reported, i almost cried, 
"this ignorant has caused me a lot", i went to his ward to see him, i was told he had a broken rib and jaw. 
"i'm so sorry sir", he reproached. 
Had i know, i wouldn't be in such a hurry.

Head over heels... 
 After 6years of his disappearance, Tombs was back in the hood, who knows where he had gone to all these while, probably, prison, who cares! I met him along an Allen towards Judge Akinbode street. I initially planned to ignore him but he greeted me with greater hospitality, it looks like we've been friends before he left but NO, we're one of the greatest enemy. 
 Back then, this naughty guy will abuse all girls, bully all boys and caused trouble around the school. 
Oneday, don't know why he picked on me, anything I do was wrong to him, he will abuse me that I'm too fat for him to date, that I'm this and that, there was a day he slapped me for talking back at him and that day he nearly disgraced me as he was meant to tore my uniform but glory be to God on this faithful day. 
 He called me on phone saying he needed to see me, i reluctantly gave him my number the day we bumped into one another due to his hospitality. I was like 'why will he want to see me', I was optimistic to know why, i went to the directed place and met him sitting, then he started the trash,"....that's all I've gat in my heart, I've poured it all, please accept me, i love you"....it was like I'm hearing those words for the first time, so surprised, 'Tombs wooed me', wonders that seized to end, i rejected him immediately. After his departure,  my heart began to pound, even if I'll fall but it mustn't be him, why this feelings,i trained my heart to be strong enough. 
 He made several attempts to get me but I kept slipping from his supposed grip, then a day came, he appeared in our house and I've been avoiding him, i was separating yam flour from it's shaft, the anxiety grew so tall in me that i poured a quantity of the shaft on him, made him all white, he looked straight into me and said, "anyway, it's an atonement for my past deeds, i won't stop loving you", he turned to leave as I couldn't hold the emotions in me, i pulled back his sleeves and hugged him with his dirty cloth, who cares!. Someone I could barely stay beside in the past as now turn to a lust for my lonely days.

The Dark Regret..

A Dark Regret... 
  
Sick and dying, in my nonagenarian years. 
"How did you come to have your right leg amputated Dad?" My son asked, as he stared at my leg. 
I knew my days are numbered already, its time to let out the truth I have kept in all this while as to how I lost a leg. 
"I'll tell you of that story. It was a regretful one." I said, as I gave a long sigh. 
 
I had two years of rigorous training in Black Shadow's Camp,  about fourty two years ago was just like yesterday. 
Twenty five of us were admitted, only six qualified to be called modern killers; Assassins. 
 
 On my induction day, El-Jeffe- our commander called me, "Hawkin Dawkin" (as that was my code name), he stretched his hand to give me a portrait. 
"That's your first assignment", I was shocked on seeing the picture. "Yes, it's the newly elected president, he defuncted from the party that helped him in and he's now a thorn in their throat, they want him dead", though there is dareness and desperation in my eyes, yet I felt pity for the man, i stand to loose nothing, death is imminent for all, so we're never afraid but the whole nation will mourn. 
"There would be a conference tomorrow at 'Hawk's Square', seize the opportunity and do it". 
... 
 I was at Hawk's Square so early, to study well the environment and the reasonable perimeter. I was sure I got it all covered. 
 
 At exactly 1200hr, the President arrived, he was a man of integrity, he took to time but my job is a must do. At quarter past 1200hr, two bullets pierced his chest and head, there is hullabaloo, everyone run in anarchy. I quickly switched my position as was planned for my escape, and as I was getting away, trying to scale through a gate, I got shot on the leg. Immediately, I slewed around in pain and shot the guy. Two other securities charged at me but I somehow escaped, don't ask me how, it's my profession. 
 
The President died. 
I assassinated him. 
 
I couldn't leave the uncompleted building somewhere in a bushy hide out. Police were all over searching for me. Did first aid as was taught, but could not get the bullet out on my own; I needed the hospital. I stopped the blood, use all the tranquilizers with me to drug myself to sleep. My dream was full of nightmares, I kept on seeing the dead president face, I still see him atimes in my dream till now, always staring at me. 
 
Two days after hiding, I manage to find my way out without been spotted. I traveled a long deal to this country, and then at the hospital, it was told me my leg needed amputating, its been infected. 
Had no choice, I was dying. I lost my leg, but I gained my conscience. 
 
I quitted after my first assignment, I never return home; no Black Shadow, just regret... Thick dark regret.

 The street is old, longlife to the street but i grew up to meet up with the street around 1998, then i was 10 years of age. My first memorable experience on the street was the day i was sent on an errand by my grandma, she sent me 'kulikuli' to battle her cassava flakes 'garri' for the afternoon. It was a #20 note and I'm to buy #5 kulikuli, seriously, #5 kulikuli is almost in fifteen pieces, it's a lot for an old woman, probably she's going to share it amongst my siblings and I. Infact, then, #20 can cook an okra soup 'Ila alasepo'. On my way there, two older guys approached me as if they were friends of my unborn elder brother, 
"how far now? What's your name? ",they greeted and I responded, one was patting and rubbing my back while the other shaking me vigorously, 
"how nice of them" i thought to myself. They left shortly after. On getting to the kulikuli seller, i quickly pick one for testing as i know she will surely remove it from the quantity I'm buying, picked another and another, making three that i picked, she tied the remaining into a small polythene bag for me, i eagerly extended my hand into my embracing pocket, and money was like, "check here, i'm here" i roamed around my multi-pocket short with no avail, 
"Where is the money? "a question for an empty answer. The woman skimmed through me head to toe like I'm a standing dumping site, she thought i was pulling tricks, she drew her cane, pulled my sleeves, i shouted and fought to get loose, she's  more powerful then(come on, not now again). 
She flogged me like 5 times and collect the already wrapped one with me, i cried home. 
 On my way back, i saw those two guys again, they were smiling, i knew what they did and i still could recognize them perfectly even up till date as many of them were still tussling with such an unworthy style of living. 
Bitterly i wept on my way home, probably because i was cheated by those goons or being beaten by the kulikuli seller or the awaiting punishment i might received from grandma. On that very day, only Judas could narrate a more sour experience. 
 I grow wiser than the day inorder to live up to the street, there are special lessons we learnt from the street, no matter the condition, the street preaches loyalty, mind you, being loyal doesn't necessarily meant you're truthful, you can be loyal to an evil wills, bad habits and weird ideologies. 
It thought us to be so steadfast, no condition as ever being permanent. 
 Up till our JSS2 days, during Ramadan(muslims' fasting month), after a playfully contented day, we felt so exhausted and the fact that God is never wicked, especially to children, we drunk or let me say sup some reasonable amount of water to hydrate our dehydrated immune. Since food wasn't involved, God can still overlook water, what a believe?. Then a day came, the street gave us an alternative, Sega came around, not many of us are fans of nitendo, Sega entered into our hood and became our food as it captive our minds. 
 That was when we substituted our childish sin for Sega, without even knowing that the love of Sega is the root of punishment. The game vendor became our new apostle and his crusade is where you'll see all youths. 
 The nemesis that came around with Sega Interactive Superstar Deluxe shall be emphasized in the next episode.

The Assist King...

Assist King... 
 Yes, they say when things actually fall apart, centres would no more hold, my heart already has fallen and it's not occupying it's former centroid. 
 When I say assist King people would think of Mesut Özil of Real Madrid who assisted Cristiano Ronaldo to Ballon D'or with 45goals, so when you're doing similar greater things for someone else who only take the credits like Ronaldo and you Özil with no recognition. 
 I have a lot of money, I bought her ferrari while I'm driving Camry LE, she's using BB Porche while I'm using Techo Android, if people should talk about me being a fool, I would say it's love. The last I did and regretted, she said she loves me and want marriage, I said 'okay', and asked to see her parents. yet his body won't tear, "he's of iron claddings I think", a senior mosquito will say, well I never gave up, i am the leader of the mosquitoes vanguard, I called my executives, yes, 'executives',  we're those that sucks without whining, so it will be difficult for anyone to applaud our lives out of our body, to us, 'applause' is never a compliment, it's a term we used for death colleagues. "I have a way of sucking out blood out of that Man's Vein, I have a plan", many hissed in 'mosquitian', "mtchewwwnnn", it's like they saw no wayforward in my supposed plan, without a bit of discouragement, i progressed, "I plan to sought for the king of Parasitic World's help, the big Rat, that's the name we call him, he lives in a cranny below the man's kitchen-store wall with his family, he would be eager to help because of the recent loss of three of his sons to the man's trap". I remember that day, i almost laughed seeing someone in anguish because of the funny scene, it's like a gum on a thick paper, a rat stuck to it, a brother quickly rushed to help, he tried to pull the brother out of the sticky paper till himself fell on the same paper and also got stucked. Another brother that always claim to be very strong tried out of stupidity to pull both out of trap at the same time, that was the funniest of the scene as he got his chest stucked and cried out like a baby chick, we laughed and the blood we managed to suck overnight spilled out of our bellies only to disperse inside a cup of water, that was when our happiness got transformed to sadness like a shit in breakfast as we dispatched with frowned countenances. Three days later, we were in front of 'Big Rat', he was eager to help, the plan was to eat the man's foot while sleeping, to make it easy, the job on our part is to suck oil and honey from the kitchen's cabinet and smeared it over the man's foot so as to make it easier for the rat to eat the skin and expose his blood cells for us to suck.  On our mission, unfortunately, three of us were applauded (you remember I said to applause is to die) but we succeeded in the mission. We retreated for hours in agog for good news from the 'Big Rat'.  Three hours passed with no news so we set out to check out ourselves only to find the 'Big Rat's' dead body lying helplessly.  ..Wizard Calidad™.. ©2015

During the 1980s, the leading crime syndicate in Mexico was the Guadalajara Cartel, which was headed by Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo (alias "El Padrino" ["the Godfather"]), Rafael Caro Quintero, Ernesto Fonseca Carrillo (alias "Don Neto"), Juan José Esparragoza Moreno ( alias "El Azul" ["the Blue One"]) and others. In the 1970s, Guzmán first worked for the drug lord Héctor "El Güero" Palma by transporting drugs and overseeing their shipments from the Sierra Madre region to urban areas near the U.S.-Mexico border by aircraft. Since his initial steps in organized crime, Guzmán was ambitious and regularly pressed on his superiors to allow him to increase the share of narcotics that were smuggled across the border. The drug lord also favored a pragmatic and serious approach when doing business; if any of his drug shipments were not on time, Guzmán would simply kill the smuggler himself by shooting him in the head. Those around 
him learned that cheating him or going with other competitors even if they offered better prices was inconvenient. The leaders of the Guadalajara Cartel liked Guzmán's business acumen, and in the early 1980s, they introduced him to Félix Gallardo, one 
of the major drug lords in Mexico at that time. Guzmán first worked as a chauffeur for Félix Gallardo before he put him in charge of logistics, where Guzmán coordinated drug shipments from Colombia to Mexico by land, air, and sea. 
Palma, on the other hand, made sure the deliveries arrived to consumers in the United States. Guzmán soon earned enough standing and began working for Félix Gallardo directly. 
Throughout most of the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Mexican drug traffickers were middlemen for the Colombian drug trafficking groups, and would simply move the drugs through 
the U.S.-Mexico border and receive a fee for each kilogram. 
Mexico, however, remained a secondary route for the Colombians, given that most of the drugs trafficked by their cartels were smuggled through the Caribbean and the Florida corridor. Félix Gallardo was the leading drug baron in Mexico and friend of Juan Ramón Matta-Ballesteros, but his operations were still limited by his counterparts in South America. In the mid-1980s, however, the U.S. government increased law enforcement surveillance and put pressure on the 
Medellín and Cali Cartels by effectively reducing the drug trafficking operations in the Caribbean corridor. Realizing it was more profitable to hand over the operations to their Mexican counterparts, the Colombian cartels gave Félix Gallardo more 
control over their drug shipments. This power shift 
gave the Mexican organized crime groups more leverage over their Central American and South American counterparts. 
During the 1980s, however, the Drug Enforcement 
Administration (DEA) was conducting undercover groundwork in Mexico, where several of its agents worked as informants. 
One DEA agent, Enrique Camarena Salazar, was working as an informant and grew close to many top drug barons, including 
Félix Gallardo. In November 1984, the Mexican military acting on the intelligence information provided by Camarena raided a large marijuana plantation owned by the Guadalajara Cartel and known as "Rancho Búfalo". Angered by the suspected betrayal, Félix Gallardo and his men sought revenge by kidnapping, torturing, and killing the DEA agent in February 1985. Guzmán's life changed that day, according to federal agents of the DEA; the drug lord took advantage of the internal crisis to gain ground within the cartel and take over more drug trafficking operations. The death of Camarena outraged Washington, and Mexico responded by carrying out a massive manhunt to arrest those involved in the incident. In 1989, Félix Gallardo was arrested; while in prison and through a number of envoys, the drug lord called for a summit in Acapulco, Guerrero. In the conclave, Guzmán and others discussed the future of Mexico's drug trafficking and agreed to 
divide the territories previously owned by the Guadalajara Cartel. 
The Arellano Félix brothers formed the Tijuana Cartel, which controlled the Tijuana corridor and parts of Baja California; in Chihuahua state, a group controlled by Carrillo Fuentes family formed the Juárez Cartel; and the remaining faction left to Sinaloa and the Pacific Coast and formed the Sinaloa Cartel under the traffickers Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, Palma, and Guzmán.     Guzmán was specifically incharge of the drug corridors of Tecate, Baja California,and Mexicali and San Luis Río Colorado, two border crossings 
that connect the states of Sonora and Baja California with the U.S. states of Arizona and California. When Félix Gallardo was arrested, Guzmán reportedly lived in Guadalajara , Jalisco for some time. One of his other centers of operation, however, was in the border city of Agua Prieta, Sonora, where he coordinated drug trafficking activities more closely. The drug lord had dozens of properties in various parts of the country. People he trusted purchased the properties for him and registered them under false names. Most of them were located in residential neighborhoods and served as stash houses for drugs, weapons, and cash. Guzmán also owned several ranches across Mexico, but most of them were located in the states of Sinaloa, Durango, Chihuahua, and Sonora, where locals working for the drug lord grew opium and marijuana. 
The first time Guzmán was detected by U.S. authorities for his involvement in organized crime was in 1987, when several protected witnesses testified in a U.S. court that the drug lord was in fact heading the Sinaloa Cartel. An indictment issued in the state of Arizona alleged that Guzmán had coordinated the shipment of 4,600 pounds (roughly 2 085 kg) of cannabis and 10,504 pounds (roughly 4 765 kg) of cocaine from 19 October 1987 to 18 May 1990, and had received roughly US $1.5 million in drug proceeds that were shipped back to his home state. Another indictment alleged that Guzmán earned US $100,000 for trafficking 35 tons (roughly 31.8 t) of cocaine and an unspecified amount of marijuana in a period of three years. In the border areas between Tecate and San Luis Río Colorado, Guzmán ordered his men to traffic most of the drugs overland, but also through a few aircraft. By using the so-called piecemeal strategy, in which traffickers kept drug quantities relatively low, risks were reduced. The drug lord also pioneered the use of sophisticated underground tunnels to move drugs across the border and into the United States. Aside from pioneering the tunnels, Palma and Guzmán packed cocaine into chili pepper cans under the brand Comadre before they were shipped to the U.S. by train. In return, the drug lords were paid through large suitcases filled with millions of dollars in cash. These suitcases were flown from the U.S. to Mexico City, where corrupt customs agents at the airport made sure the deliveries were not inspected. Large sums of that money were reportedly used as bribes for members of the Attorney General's Office.

Eleyele, My hood

Eleyele, My hood...

 Eleyele, a direct translation means oni-eyele, the owners of pidgeon, it's a renowned geographical location in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State. Why the name? Let's leave that particular story for the archaelogist, many a bloke like me just one day wake up to our senses and find ourselves dwelling in this community. Well, I'll describe that blessed place for you in brief. 
 It's a geographical area that subtend towards the outskirt of Ibadan, it is somhow circular and embedded with a handful of wonders. Eleyele is bigger than many towns, not only in Oyo but in Nigeria and if it wont be an overstatement i would've said it's worthy to be a state on her own. Ask me why? There are four federal institutions in Eleyele, one state polythecnic and over hundred secondary and primary schools, both private and government owned. Now, talking about localization of industry, Eleyele can promised you many things which I'm only going to mention few, the first headquarters of Fan Milk plc Nigeria is in Eleyele, the headquarters of Nigermatch Nigeria is there. 
 If you're all about tourist attraction, I'll tell you that the historic Oke Ibadan during the reign of our first forefather, Lagelu, was situated here in Eleyele and there is enough room for sightseeing by the riverside. 
 Eleyele river is enough to supply both electricity and water for the whole town in abundance, which can actually serve well as a means of attraction for foreign investors. Our land had gone elastic as they expanded in length, breadth and width to give birth to a new geographical area called Ologuneru, which is still expanding fast. To cut the accolades short, Eleyele is nothing but blessed. 
 It's all well and good until your potential boss heard you hail from Eleyele, he must redo a background check on you because the good reputation of our condo had dashed into thin air to give room for street orientation. Now, the street had forced on our tongue its anthem, of guys gone gaga as gals gone wild, here, when nothing seems to go right, even right will turn left. As we all know, the first orientation we received was go to school and study hard, so that we can live a secured life, but the street taught us otherwise as it had many examples to show unlike our parents who would talk and leave the rest to God. So many great brothers are leading by examples. Brothers are ammasing affluence, many cool dough majorly through street means even our parents can't spend as much as they do. Big brothers in the hood were riding on big cars and many responsible Dads' wouldn't change the same car in a decade. 
Then who should we mentor?. The question will be answered right in your mind after the whole episode, why the hood is good, bad and equally weird.

 Such a statement can get you arrested and detained under maximum security at DEA. El Chapo is a man an innocent-you wont like to relate with, a pious-you wont like to be fathered by though he had atleast eleven children, a father you might consider disowning or untagging his name from your good name, though, a rebellious-you, a drugaddicted-you, an illmannered-you will so much fall inlove with (a mentor for you criminals). A man of ill-integrity, yes, he has escaped prison twice. Hero or Villain?. 
 
Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera was born into a poor family in the rural community of La Tuna, Badiraguato, Sinaloa, Mexico. Sources disagree on the date of his birth, with some stating he was born on 25 December 1954, while others report he was born on 4 April 1957. His parents were Emilio Guzmán Bustillos and María Consuelo Loera Pérez. His paternal grandparents were Juan Guzmán and Otilia Bustillos, and his maternal grandparents were Ovidio Loera Cobret and Pomposa Pérez Uriarte. For many generations, his family lived and died at La Tuna. His father was officially a cattle rancher, as were most in the area where Guzmán grew up; according to some sources, however, he may have possibly also been a gomero, a Sinaloan word for opium poppy 
farmer. Guzmán has two younger sisters, Armida and Bernarda, and four younger brothers: Miguel Ángel, Aureliano, Arturo and Emilio. He had three unnamed older brothers who reportedly died of natural causes when he was very young. 
Few details are known of Guzmán's upbringing. As a child, Guzmán sold oranges, and dropped out of school in third grade to work with his father. Guzmán was regularly beaten and sometimes fled to his maternal grandmother's house to escape such treatment. However, when he was home, Guzmán stood up to his father to protect his younger siblings from being beaten. 
 It is possible that Guzmán incurred his father’s wrath for trying to stop him from beating them. His mother, however, was the "foundation of [his] emotional support". As the nearest school to his home was about 60 mi (100 km) away, Guzmán was taught by traveling teachers during his early years, just like the rest of his brothers. The teachers stayed for a few months before moving to other areas. With few opportunities for employment in his hometown, he turned to the cultivation of opium poppy, a common practice among local residents. During harvest season, Guzmán and his brothers hiked the hills of Badiraguato to cut the bud of the poppy. 
 Once the plant was stacked in kilos, his father sold the harvest to other suppliers in Culiacán and Guamúchil. He sold marijuana at commercial centers near the area while accompanied by Guzmán. His father spent most of the profits on liquor and women and often returned home with no money. Tired of his mismanagement, Guzmán, at the age of 15, cultivated his own marijuana plantation with four distant cousins (Arturo, Alfredo, Carlos, and Héctor), who lived nearby. With his first marijuana productions, Guzmán supported his family financially. 
When he was a teenager, however, his father kicked him out of his house, and he went to live with his grandfather. It was during his adolescence that Guzmán earned the nickname El Chapo, Mexican slang for "Shorty", because he's short with height 1.68m 5ft 6in stature. 
Though most people in Badiraguato worked in the poppy fields of the Sierra Madre Occidental throughout most of their lives, Guzmán left his hometown in search of greater opportunities; through his uncle Pedro Avilés Pérez, one of the pioneers of Mexican drug trafficking, he left Badiraguato in his 20s and joined organized crime. 
 He was the Mexican drug lord who heads the Sinaloa Cartel, a criminal organization named after the Mexican Pacific coast state of Sinaloa. 
 He became Mexico's top drug kingpin in 2003 after the arrest of his rival Osiel Cárdenas of the Gulf Cartel, and is considered the "most powerful drug trafficker in the world" by the United States Department of the Treasury. 
Each year from 2009 to 2011 Forbes magazine ranked Guzmán as one of the most powerful people in the world, ranking 41st, 60th and 55th respectively. He was thus the second most powerful man in Mexico, after Carlos Slim. 
He was named as the 10th richest man in Mexico (1,140th in the world) in 2011, with a net worth of roughly US$ 1 billion. 
 The magazine also calls him the "biggest drug lord of all time", and the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) estimates he has surpassed the influence and reach of Pablo Escobar, and now considers him "the godfather of the drug world". In 2013, the Chicago Crime Commission 
named Guzmán "Public Enemy Number One" for the influence of his criminal network in Chicago, though there is no evidence that Guzmán has ever been in that city. The last person to receive such notoriety was Al Capone in 1930. 
 Guzmán's Sinaloa Cartel transports multi-ton cocaine shipments from Colombia through Mexico to the United States, the world's top consumer, and has distribution cells throughout the U.S. 
The organization has also been involved in the production, smuggling and distribution of Mexican methamphetamine, marijuana, ecstasy and heroin across both North America and Europe. 
At the time of his 2014 arrest, Guzmán exported more drugs to the United States than anyone else, more than 500 tons of cocaine in the USA alone. 
Guzmán was captured in 1993 in Guatemala, extradited and sentenced to 20 years in prison in Mexico for murder and drug trafficking. After bribing prison guards, he was able to escape from a federal maximum-security prison in 2001.  He was wanted by the governments of Mexico and the United States, and by INTERPOL. 
The U.S. offered a US$5 million reward for information leading to his capture, and the Mexican government offered a reward of 60 million pesos (approximately US$3.8 million) for information on Guzmán. 
 Guzmán was arrested by Mexican authorities in Mexico on 22 February 2014. He was found inside his fourth-floor condominium in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, and was captured without a gunshot being fired. Guzmán escaped from prison again on 11 July 2015 by exiting through a tunnel that 
led to a nearby construction site. He was recaptured by Mexican marines following a gun battle on 8 January 2016.

The recent incidence between Tolu and Jibola had casted doubts about the realisation of the plan that was seemingly on a 100% path to success: it now throttle upon the dirty path of futility. Tolu had called me yesterday night after a long moment of silence. I remember her actual words. 
“I really need to see you tomorrow, some serious issues came up.” 
I began to wonder what kind of issues could transform Tolu’s voice to that terrible status of being husky. I spent the next couple of hour anticipating what the on knocking lunch hold in stock for me. The time seemed to read my mind as it hastened and lunch time happened sooner than anticipated. It was a sunny afternoon and the cool breeze of the air conditioned room was such a comfort as Tolu and I talked over our lunch. Tolu had been very emotional that afternoon stressing how stunned she was at Jibola’s seriousness so far. My fear was slowly getting affirmed. After her deep story wrapped around convincing me to believe in her reasons for her short comings as regard how initial plans. I had expected Jibola’s attitude to have been her strength. However who would blame a single lady like Tolu if she found sincerity in the company of Jibola? Such company is that she would never throw away with levity. We haven’t exchanged words in over five minutes. I eventually broke the silence. 
“The moral of this your whole story is that I should expect no information from you?” 
“That is not what I said, however I needed to tell you so that you won’t be disappointed if I held back certain information. I would, like I reiterated, not risk anything that could wreck this dream relationship I found with Jibola. As a friend Dare, you were not able to open up to me as to the reasons why you need such information and I believe we’ve come too longa way for you not to trust me on such issues.” 
I was lost for words, it dawned on me that pushing Tolu further might even lead her to opening up to Jibola and the only reason she’s said nothing was simply because of our strong bond of friendship. I also believe she knew breaking such news to Jibola might yet wreck the relationship she tries so to protect. I left her an angry and frustrated man, the whole issue was compounded by the fact office work resumes the next day and I would hence have little time for my quest.I reached work the next day a bit gloomy, I had only spent two minutes in my office when director James called me. I went to his office trying to force as enough spark to my mood as I could. I met him in the middle of a morning tea. He offered me a sit. 
“James how was the leave?” 
“it was fine sir?” 
“I called you to this office because something came up after you left.” 
“Hope it wasn’t something terrible sir?” 
“It was indeed terrible and sorrowful too.” 
“It involves that incidence that happened to you that almost took your life.” I was dazed by that revelation. 
“Sir what have you had about that incidence?” 
“I used to have a school son and I’ve been wondering about his where bout until I heard he died during that raid on you?” 
“I am very sorry about that sir, Oga I don’t suppose your son in law would be a criminal sir, why was he among that gang that night?” 
“All I know is Dare is a good man and would never been a true part of the gang, maybe he just ran into trouble?”“Did you say dare sir?” 
“Yes, Dare.”I couldn’t believe my ears, how come Dr James knew Dare? 
“Mr James, that was the man that saved my life that day,” I said.

The cocoon

I had woken with an even more heightened sense of frustration, the cocoon haven't recovered yet and even now it seemed to be near death as it only came alive at distant intervals with only a mild flicker of yellow effulgence. Now, suicide would seem the perfect way to end the trauma.  It all started years back, how I landed here I do not understand and who I am I do not fully know, but there I was as a god in this strange and dark world. 
There was a barren sky,  no stars, no moon, no sun, however there was this hovering cocoon that always shone yellow light the past years. I barely go anywhere as my imagination always manifested as reality, as a creation of my wishes only took a snap of my finger. However, magical powers are meant to impress, being alone marred everything. when hungers came I'd walked over to the holy ground in front of me,  there I'd pick berries and other fruits.  
My predicament angered me beyond redemption, I had stood up angrily picked up a plank nearby and slashed at the dying cocoon. There erupted this shattering sound, a blinding white light then rose and everything went blank again. Only briefly however, I had snapped my eyes open into another reality. There was a crowd, most of them strangers, several memories rushed back into my subconscious. I then remembered my name; looked down at myself and almost puked; I was dirty, smelly, and tattered. It then dawned on me I had been mad. I looked up to check the supposed  cocoon, it happens to be a street lamp and the supposed holy ground a refuse dump. 
"Where am I," I asked? 
everyone looked at me with sheer perplexity. 
... 
Later I was told I had been mad for six months. However I begin to wonder if I had broken the cocoon earlier, maybe I'd be healed much more earlier. 
Morale: 
No condition is permanent, if you are sane and healthy please be grateful,  you will soon find the will to break your own cocoon too.

"On this note, i will invite 'Mr Falsehood' to come and talk about his very best friend, 'The Truth", he stood out and say, "Truth is the pill that everyone wants but can't swallow". The pill? It's not like someone is sick here! (amazed), well, a sane, sorry a sensible person should know what the 'pill' was actually referring to. We all want the truth but can't take it, why? Someone said, 'Truth might be good but not right while at times it might be right but not good. Hope you got that? Well, a man caught his boss wife with a colleague he disliked and was shocked, so he promised to revealed what he saw to his boss immediately, it was too bad to hide, that is when 'Truth' appeared to be right but not good and unfortunately for him the colleague had an hidden card, he showed him a clip of one of his fraudulent activity in office, a embezzlement type of corruption, as he said, " well, you can do as you like, i will only lose our boss trust, affection and bath in his hatred but you are going to lose your job and means of livelihood and also wallowed in poverty. This type of 'Truth' is good but not right. Why? I think everything that is truth should be good and right in normal sense but their is a bridge that connects the three which is what 'JUST', had it being the first guy was just, with no hatred for the offending guy and reporting him was based on clear conscience, what would have happened? Likewise if the second guy was just, he would have reported since about the crime but he waited so long for a proper timing and keep it as a hidden card. What was right turned out not to be good and what was good turned out not to be right. The Truth already crossed a boundary as it means different things to different people 
A religious leader would say, "it is the ability to be true to God, the scripture and human being". 
A philosopher would say, "it is the act of faithfulness and fidelity". 
A scientist would say, "it is the fact, postulated laws, genuine depiction of statements of reality". 
A business man would say, "accuracy without compromise". 
A mathematician would say, "a truth statement without negation". 
 
Many are not even true to theirself, when you are meant to be a carpenter (international) whilst they stick to reading medicine ending up as local. In human being, their is endowment, yours might be far differ from mine but that is what you are best at, don't deviate! Then fuel it with passion.

Dele Deagbo remained on the roof as we pretended to be reading back in the class, i wittingly ushered stupid Tobi back to the class as he was dashing towards the fence, 
"dont you know we shall be suspected if we were nowhere to be found, we must atleast take this gamble". Tobi was shivering, clueless, as soon as i heard footsteps approaching the class we're using, i also was naive and as well not so confident of our gaff not being blown, i immediately ordered Tobi to place his head on the table like he was sleeping, i quickly feigned my handsfree into my ear as if i've not been hearing the approaching footsteps. He entered and saw Tobi sleeping while i was reading, he enquired, ''What of Dele?'' 
I keep my cool as I answered, ''He went home for water". He went away without suspecting anything. In the course of survival for way out, Dele became a ceiling scout till he sort himself out after so many un-merry ceiling journey through a class with an open space into the roof. 
 I felt relieved immediately he found his way back to the class we are, heavily breathing, almost all his body part had been woven with cobwebs, inorder to clear the security man's doubt, we exeunt the class to Dele's family quarters. 
On getting back to Dele's room, we patiently solve all questions correctly and prepared for the new day in school. 
... 
 Kola was given the question as soon as he stepped into the school, he sat alone in a class for the E.M.S. (early morning study) inorder to study hard the solutions, he was poor in arithmetic. As soon as the assembly bell rang, it was 15minutes earlier than normal, i was afraid, probably the security man heard informed the Principal because any form of investigation would surely bounce back to us. The Principal climbed the ground first as he led the school for the devotion, after the whole thing he voiced, 
"the fifteen minutes we saved earlier would be used to test the two aspirant for the post of Senior Prefect, the winner will assume the school S.P", within a blink of an eye, some students already brought two chairs and tables to the assembly platform. The Principal served the questions himself and announced a duration of 20minutes. We all watched as Kola's fate lies with his pen, so many murmured and giggled about the whole saga, twenty minutes passed and their scripts had to be accessed, the senior mathematics teacher after marking both scripts announced amidst our anxiety, "Kola after the assessment scored 83% while the new boy David also had 83%". There was chaos on the assembly as the situation got interesting the more, i personally didnt know why Kola cant just nail the whole 100%, afterall we solved everything but i would also praised him for studying that much the little time he had. 
... 
"Now, why you do you want to be the Senior Prefect is the next article the two must write", the evil looking Principal said, as much as i love him before, now his face to me was plastered with disappointment and looking at him depressed me the more. 
Plain sheets of paper were presented afresh, they sat to write for another fifteen minutes and after it all the english teacher announced 75% for Kola and 80% for David, i almost cried. 
"Ojoro! Cheat!" Kola's fans yelled, all was now in vain as the Principal announced the new senior boy as 'David Danladi'. It ached me to the bone as I promised not to have anything to do with that boy, but the pledged became compromising when Kola himself has forgiven him, though he was made the assistant senior boy for the first time in the school history and I the laboratory prefect, we have to co-exist now as we held meetings daily before assembly and the three of us do represent the school in any quiz competition, yet, it wasn't really smooth between us, then oneday he approached me with a wrapped gift and extend it to me saying, 
"Why did you hate me? Anyway! I like you a lot." 
I was dumbfounded with zero words to utter.

War ensued in the school amidst we students and a replica version amidst teachers too. Many teachers were against the Principal's decision while many students were on the Principal's side of the scale supporting him, who cares! When Kola was already on the fifth drip at the health center opposite our school. 
"I am the dictator here, I have my standard, no underline of mine can change my decision", the Principal was sterned on his decision as he intentionally dashed his poisonous words-darts at the Pro-Kola member of staffs as they also reacted with several whining in murmuring tone in fold of their lots. Then the V.principal stood up as she said, 
"Why must a new boy always become our S.P? He shouldnt even be a prefect normally because we never know his ability academic-wise and his attitude moral-wise, that's why the S.P from three sets ago though brilliant yet was a smoker, he was expelled from the school he was coming from..." 
"Afterall he was brilliant, that was why it wasn't a mistake he assumed the post, even many head of state were former cultist, moreover I already carried out a background check on him, he's okay demeanor-wise, he was here due to some financial constraint of his family" the Principal reacted. 
"Nevertheless Sir, though the tradition holds as normal for couple of decades now yet it shouldn't come in this form, former S.Ps' had always been in school, one, two or three terms before the prefectship", Mr P.O. added, he was the most fearful teacher in the school, those days when boarding still hold, he use to be the housemaster, until three female boarders were impregnated at a time, the P.T.F now decided to put an end to boarding in my school, everyone must be a day student or go to another school with enough security and boarding facilities. Later we somehow heard that Mr. P.O. was responsible for one if not two of the pregnancy, you know in every rumour, there is always an element of truthfulness. 
That day meeting was fruitless as far as i know as we senior students were following it like twitter. The following morning, on the assembly, the Principal addressed the issue stylishly in a manner of brainwashing we students in his support. Fortunately for him, its only our set that didn't fall for his trick, the other students already agreed in support of the new boy. During breaktime, some students converged under a tree, about a hundred, on getting there to grace the supposed great event (as that's the only reason why students gathered that much), to our greatest surprise, it was this stupid new boy doing his manifesto amidst the juniors, What a grumpy kid!. Alabi, a hot tempered boy in my class dashed into the crowd, he got a hold of this boy and punch him in the face, he fell down as the junior students started shouting, 
"Senior David!!!", that was when we learnt he goes by the name David. 
Shortly after, he entered the class carrying a pregnant eye together with the Principal, he went straight to his seat as the Principal stood still, "Alabi Ahmed!, follow me to my office immediately". 
You dont need to be told that Alabi is already in a big soup inside an iron pot on a gas cooker, the man called Principal will serve him hot. Students are bad atimes, we were together with Alabi when he commited his crime and cheered him as well, now that he was serving punishment, we were again making jest of his situation. It started with Aremu when he saw a big pot of stone being carried about picking pebbles by Alabi, he shouted, 
"Alabi, what are you selling? Isn't that vegetable?Hahahahahahahahahaha(he laughed), we all bursted in laughter as Alabi too into a loud cry. 
.... 
On the third day, Kola was back in school, he programmed himself like nothing had happened two days earlier, the Principal called him and that Devil version of David (this one cant even stand Goliath pikin) who was also wearing our uniform for the first time. 
"Prepare for a mathematics competition tomorrow, who wins becomes S.P." He said it as short as that waving the likely question script. 
When Kola was briefing us, i suspected the Principal, he favoured that David, he might show to him the question so we sorted a plan, we were going to get the question before David, we have to steal it for our friend. Dele was Mr. Deagbo's son, they lived in the school compound, the Teacher's Quarters, he had a duplicated key to the Principal's office. There was a time when towards vacation, we purchased a new leather ball for the inter class competion but after the whole competition, we still played it. On vacation day, the Principal seized the ball while playing it and he has a very bad tradition of not returning whatsoever he seized(leather ball for that matter!). Dele Deagbo's stay in the school wasn't fruitless, as he made the duplicate key and get the ball out over the holiday, there are over two hundred seized items so the Principal wouldn't have noticed if a ball was missing, henceforth, in Dele Deagbo we trust for any seized items. 
We planned to read over the night in the school and sleep at Deagbo's place, this is not the first time of sleeping in the school since our boarding was banned, during the examination we did, and most finalist were priviledged too and presently we are the finalist (most seniorest lol). Dele joined us to read making us three for the operation, Dele, Tobi and I. 
At exactly ten o clock, after the security had passed with his whistle, Dele told us he will blow his next whistle at twelve o clock, so we have a whole two hours to operate. Five minutes after, we were already in the office, we searched and searched until I checked the photocopying machine and found the question inside with the title, 'the decider', 
"wow! David already have it", I lamented 
"why?" asked Tobi 
"What's it doing in the photocopier if not?" answered Dele 
"you get brain" i praised him. 
Tobi has a very good and fast handwriting, he quickly copied it, it was five solid question with plenty children, when i say children, it has many options, a,b,c,d,e. We peacefully returned the question, as we were trying to egressed, we had footsteps from afar, we reduced our steps to hear further as Tobi stubbed into a small shell, the drawer inside fell and make a big sound, the approaching footstep shouted, "who was that?" as the steps quickens ahead, I rushed out as Tobi followed, but Dele couldn't make it out as he jumped into the open ceiling inside the office. The security on reaching there found the door opened and still heard our steps dashing away, he noticed the lock hasn't been damaged but rather compromised, he locked the door from outside as Dele was still inside on the ceiling the ceiling with the key in his pocket.

"The mantle of leadership will be handed over to you people, where you'll have the ability to transform visions to reality. What are your visions? I'll give you a fortnight to think about it." He dismissed us. joy 
  My secondary school is a renowned one in my town, a large, spacious and a park for intellectuals indeed. Yes, when i say intellectual i surely mean it, A former Head of State of Nigeria was a product of my school, the incumbent Senate President, A nominee for Grammy best female category award, an aspirant who contested against Obama, The greatest lobbyist in Nigeria, The President of Liberia, The Chief Strategist of Al-Qaeda, the best footballer on the planet earth, the Vice President of World Bank, Seven Vice Chacellor in seven different prestigious Nigerian University, the Mayor of Lancashire and so many prominent people on earth are my school products (ayam not lying o!). 
 The prefectship in my school had a wonderful  standard, you can only be one if your English is more than average, you must be fluent. Many of us that went to a private primary school can still communicate well and better than public school laddens. 
   However, no matter how good you're, a pure blood of our school will never become 'The Senior Prefect'. If you want to assume the 'SP' position, then go to a private college and quit at SS2 to join the train of my school leaders, you'll sure be in the executive cabin, favoured as the Senior Prefect. The day he called us for the discussion, what he's actually doing is buying enough time for a new seeker to show up, a new private school boy to be our 'SP', it's already two weeks into resumption yet none had shown up. 
  We all looked out everyday for the savior of our time, 'the new seeker', he shone with fame without an identity, some even advised the school to pronounced other prefects and leave the position for the anonymous but the principal insisted. 
  After a fortnight, once again the principal sought for our audience and we responded. We were interviewed in front of a panel one after the other. After a thorough screening, we've all known our school-given post. 
 Kola, the to-be-senior-prefect, was overwhelmed with happiness for being the first pure blood seeker of the school, we celebrated with him as he bought us food and the likes during break-time at Iya Divine's stll that same day. 
 He fumbled about how great he had become, for him being the first of a kind, it is a good sign that he will also one day rule the world, that night he already prepared his highly motivation speech, the likes of Les Brown and Robert O. Kiyosaki's own that goes thus... 
 "I Kola, the son of man on this day assumed this post higher than the United State Presidency. 
The future is ours, greatness and prosperity were the foundation of this school, if your glory is a dim type, once your foot were stepped onto this heaven, immediately your star would shine brighter. For me, this is the world before me, a Donald Trump is here, a Bill Gate in the making was staring at me and if truly Obama broke the record of being the first black president, then i myself with the galaxy of stars packed before me here would break the record of being the first black man to rule the whole world, i will show you what is meant by leadership, as it is the ability to transform vision to reality. On this day, i place it before you, dont call me the SP again call me the 'Global President', it's I, Kola Timba. 
Thanks." 
Sincerely, it would have being the best speech ever if delivered, i was so proud of my school as i read the speech. 
  Then the D-Day, we've all ironed our uniforms, the ironed edges (gators) formed on our trousers  could slice a throat. As the assembly started, anxiety arose in us,  after the principal idiomatic address on the assembly, he moved on to naming we flag bearers. 
He continued like,....."discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments, please cross the bridge, I will hereby call on the new leaders of the school, they will....." the school messenger interrupted running towards the assembly, 
"the seeker has arrived!!!" he screamed. Suddenly there was a vehement outburst on the assembly, either they were expressing their joy or angst I wouldn't know, all I know is their was chaos amidst our assembly row. The boy, a very tiny boy with a broad smile as if he purposely came to rain on our parade. "Yes!,  that's the man, UB3, give us a marching song", the principal suspended the assembly. As we were marching in, Kola fainted.
